coverter lock up problems??
coverter lock up problems??
Hi all,
Recently replaced my stock converter with a b&m 3000 10"
lock up,well upon installing the new converter I quickly realized that it would not - so first thing I checked the part # and it is a lock up ,then i called tech and the suggested checking the
celonoid -so i grounded the ecm wire and you could hear it clicking.. next step i had them send me a new one ,I replaced it today and went for a ride ,it locked up 4 times in a row from a stop the just stopped working again and has not sense?????
Anyone ever have any similiar probs? I am stumped..
Thanks for any help

Thats definatly odd. I was going to say that you may have torn the o-ring on the end of the input shaft, but if the new one worked (for a short peroid anyway) then it sounds like the hydraulic system is OK. This is a crappy thing to suggest, but I wonder if it would work like its supposed to if you put the stock one back in? That way you could definatly rule out the tranny.
Well i wanted to do that but gave the stock to a friend in need,
Actually the one i took out was a 2400 that was stalling around
1400 and they were refunding me so i figured it would be a great time to upgrade.
Glad i did ,i gained 4 tenths from that but lost my lock up grrrrr.
Thanks for reply.

No mph really, previous best was a 12.92 @ 106.1 with a 1.90
60 ft, after converter 12.51 @ 106.9 with a 1.68 60 ft
The only way you really ever get any MPH is to increase
Horsepower or unless your gearing was way off and you dont get close to peak power going through the traps.
