recomendations???

I'm runnin an 85 z28 with the stock open rear and i want posi lol well not really posi but limited would be nice. When i got the car the dealer said it was limited but it's pretty flippin obvious that it's not. I like barkin the tire in second but i want to either bark both or neither heh heh. I'm not loaded so a cheap alternative would be nice but i'm just wondering what my options are for this axle.....i suppose the type of axle would be handy but....i dunno........crap i'm so tire... i'm gonna get flamed for this i know but .... oh well.. help if you can if not then thanks anyway

Well 'Archael', looks like I will see you at the junk yard tomorrow

Seriously though, I've got to hit one up for a 2 series Posi unit. I've got spider gears that are shot, and I can't find a replacement kit with cones.

If I turn up empty handed, I'll have to get a unit from Jegs for 300 bucks (don't want to dump to much in this 7.5" turkey, it's bad enough that I've dumped 300 into gears & bearings)...

BTW: Posi is Limited slip; posi is nothing more than GM's name for a limit slip carrier.

I will have a 2 series carrier for sale shortly if interested. Its an OEM, 26 spline limited slip from an '87 Trans Am. I'll sell the 3.73 Richmond gears as well (3.73s setup for use on 2 series carriers).
And yes, it works, I'll show you pics of the burnouts that I have done w/ it

How much '4L60bliss' ?

I've got new Richmond 3.42 gears, and really only need the carrier.

The guy at the junk wanted 40 bucks, but let me know what you want, and when you'll have it ready.

BTW: all I came up with was spider gears @ the damn junk yard, and both sets out of open diff. so there to big

For knowledge to all that read this thread; the reasons (I) you can't find a posi cone kit, is cause Auburn (maybe even BW) machines the cones to the carrier case as a matched or paired set...This dosn't apply for the clutch style posi...

JUST FYI
