how can i tell w/o taking the trans out if i have a shift kit, both my cousin and i think i might. i was at a stop and put it to the floor and it rode to about 4400 RPM in first and then chirped them shifting from 1st to 2nd. does this sound like maybe a shift kit???

sounds like it, but when i adjusted my tv cable it lights em up when its could around 1/2 throttle, and even if its hot it lights em up when im really ripping into it. sometimes sends the car sideways. nto bad for not even having a shift kit.

 

thanks, i was just wonderin, because i haven't had that happen to me. i mean i was out drivin and on an open road, so i stopped and floored it, no spin on the launch but when i rode out to about 4400, it shifted and chirped em.

 

Probably a broken 1-2 Accumulator Spring. Put it in D and run it to 30, then coast down to a stop. If you feel a clunk at on the 3-2 downshift you do NOT have a Shift Kit.
