What is this?
I have a bar that looks like 7-8 pieces of metal riveted together on the back of my T-5. What is it and do I need it? (Pic was too big) Thanks

Thank you for the replies. The trans may have been from a V-6, but I have either a LG4 or a LB9(not sure which). Are the bellhousings different between the V-8 and the V-6 because it bolted right up. I figured it was a dampener but it also looked like extra weight. Thought I should ask people who new more than me before I removed it. Thanks again.

Yeah, it will bolt right up.... the car won't move though.... the clutch splines are different, you just got hosed
LG4 = carb
LB9 = TPI
Should be fairly easy to identify

Actually the splines do line up and it holds the car on a hill with the tranny in gear. I know they line up because that was the only hard part of putting the trans in. The engine and trans were both from the same car (87 Firebird) and are what the car came with. I also pulled the engine and trans myself. I bought the engine and trans from a long time friend. As for the motor it was carbed when I bought it but he said it was tpi when he first got it.
