HELP lol PLEASE!

Ok my tranny problems all started 6 months after I had the car. I would drive along in [D] and in D and acclerate. The tranny would reach so high an RPM and slip, and would not upshift until I let the RPM'S settle down, and then it would POP! into gear and go on. It kept doing this until one day it POPPED! bigtime, whammo no second gear.

So, i took it to a FOF and got the tranny "supposedly" changed to a used one from a yard....???????? So problem stopped. Tranny change one began. It took 700$ and 4 days to do and i Had it back, ran fine for almost a year and BAM came back.

Paid same guy AGAIN to change tranny. change #2. THIS TIME it took only a 3/4 of a day? ????? and I had it back, no problems ANOTHER 700$.

So yest. it started again, and i know soon what will happen. I AM NOT DOING THIS A THIRD TIME.

My question is:

Did this guy take me for a ride? It looks like the same tranny i've always had! And it took him only about 7 hours to do a tranny swap? when he was backed up? and all my gas in tank was gone? uhuh.

What could this be? and what was he maybe fixing to get rid of it? a cable maybe? please help before i get stranded again!

tv cable

sounds like the tv cable wasnt adjusted properly. I had this problem with a Ford AOD. I rebuilt it myself and adjusted the cable and havent had a problem since. As far as the fuel he may have dropped your fuel tank, why I am not sure I know on my Cougar I had to drop it the rearend to slide my drive shaft back to get the tranny out

I would have taken it to another place after the first time the tranny went out. Maybe he sees you coming
