T5 chip for auto with T56?

Engine: L98
Transmission: T-56
T5 chip for auto with T56?

i have an 89 IROC with 350 TPI and i put in a T56 from a 96 TA. should i get the prom chip from a 5 speed car? or is my automatic chip fine? i have heard both. can someone answer and tell me why i should do what you think?

Your prom should be fine. I have a TBI car that I converted to a T5 from an auto, and it is still using the stock auto prom.

I think the only thing you are missing out on the that little light that tells you to shift gears at 1500 rpm for fuel economy. I disabled my shiftlight, it was tooooo annoying.
