I have 450ft/lbs of torque corrected on my Z28. I want a 6spd. transmission, but i heard that my only choice is a T56 and it is weak. Is this true?
Do I have any other options? I dont want an automatic any longer. Any help is appreciated.

The tq rating is derived over 24 hours of continious(sp?) input. I seriously doubt that your going to break a T-56 if your at 450 corrected.

Your kidding?!? I was wondering how vipers and beefed up LT1's were taking the abuse. That is really good news. Thank you sir, you are too kind.

I built a 700 for a guy putting down 419 ft/lbs at the rear wheels and is AWD. Auto trannies can't be that bad

Anyhow, like mentioned before, the Z06 Vette and infamous Viper both use the T-56 tranny, so I doubt you will have a problem.

The T-56 is used in all the domestic highend cars, (viper, corvette) the viper puts out 500 torque stock, you will be fine.
