T56 clutch and flywheel question
I'm looking at getting a T56 change over package that includes the clutch and flywheel but I can't reuse the flywheel cause I have a 2 peice rear main. My question is, if I get a flywheel for a 2 peice rear main, will the stock T56 clutch work with it or does the clutch have to be for a 2 peice setup. I'm not too familiar with these setups so I don't know the answer to this simple question but I'm sure someone here does, thanks for any help.

You neeed to get a Centerforce flywheel, PN 700107. Its a flywheel for a two piece rear main seal, but uses the stock LT1/t56 pull style clutch. A regular flywheel will not work with the LT1 style clutch, thats why you need this special flywheel. I think I got mine from Summit or Jegs for around $300, but that was 2 years ago.

Lately I've been considering just getting a trans and bellhousing and just buying the clutch and flywheel seperate. So if I bought a clutch for it, would I still have to get an LT1 clutch or would I be able to use a regular type clutch with a regular 2 peice rear main flywheel for a T56? Thanks agian.

ya gotta use the the LT1 clutch. The bellhousing is setup that way. Get a tranny and bellhousing then get a aftmkt flywheel and aftmkt Lt1 Clutch. GOod luck.
