About short shifters...

such as like the pro 5.0, hurst, etc. for the T56 transmission. Now I know they give you quicker shifts thanks to shorter throws and all that. But my question is there any other advantages other then that? cause I dont really drag race or do anything that requires super fast shifting.

ya the shift feel is much better....it doesnt have that soft spongy feel of the factory shifter, the shifts will feel firmer and more positive. and you can beat the hell out of it and it wont break....that goes for pretty much any of the aftermarket shifters. Its also more accurate at pickin gears

shorter shifts, good positive shift stops on 2nd and 3rd and no mushyness whatsoever

Yeah.... you don't bang your knuckles on the A/C control head any more, and you can actually tell what gear you're in...

My stock shifter had more slop when it was in a gear, than the distance between gears. It was like it was connected to the trans by a bowl of oatmeal. I got a Hurst shifter when they came out, it was an unbelievable difference in the feeling of precision while driving it.
