clutch switch

I have a 1989 RS with 5 spd. manual transmission.

The previous owner had the clutch replaced.

I can start the car without pressing the clutch.

How can I fix this problem? Any ideas?

Hook the clutch safety switch back up.

It's under the dash; hooks to the clutch pedal (duh); the connector has a large yellow and a large purple wire in it. That plug probably has a piece of wire or something stuck in it to make it work.
