i was just gonna ask something similar...i just was looking at the transgo shift kit and its not too expensive at all...maybve this would be a good idea-my iroc has 55k miles and i wanna take every precaution necessary to keep my tranny in good shape and running good and get good shifts, etc...is this really easy to put in, what is the basic make-up of a shift kit? thanks

Try a search, you'll find all the answers you need.
TransGo is the way to go, "only real true shift kit", fixes problems with the 700R4 unlike kits like B&M. Pretty much what you'll read in searching.
