88 Iroc - 700r4 - tranny acting like MAF unplugged

I had some problems with my MAF awhile back and when my Check Engine light came on I had to drive home and the tranny would randomly "slip" from the rpm it was at to idle and then back to the rpm it was at.

Well.....my tranny is doing this now and I have no problems that I know of with my MAF now. It will do it in either D or OD...... I'll be driving down the road and my car will "bog down" and I notice the RPM's drop to idle and then go back to normal driving RPM's. This problems seems to be getting worse. This is my only car so could somebody tell me what to get checked.....as I need it to go to work everyday. Could it be the MAF messing up w/o a check engine light or could the tranny be going out?

I really need help with this guys. I checked the tranny fluid and it was fine just like I already knew. I read on here there is a wire hooked into the tranny that can be unplugged. Is this for the computer control stuff so I can unplug it from the tranny and just run the tranny alone to see if the MAF is the problem?

If this is the problem I think I will be converting to Speed Density real soon.
