kickdown kit??

is the B & M 700R4 kickdown kit really worth the $33 from summit?

I'm not familiar w/ the "kickdown kit". Its that the same as the "Upshift sleeve"? What does it do? If you'r looking to hold overdrive at WOT, you can modify your existing TV Sleeve ("plunger housing") to accomplish this. Or you can purchase the pricey ones machined w/ the detent hole deleted.

BTW, a stock '85 700R-4 used the early style valvebody which should hold overdrive at WOT on its own.

i think we are talking about the same thing. the description says it will hold the tranny in OD until 3/4 throttle. Where can i find how to modify the stock one?? i would much rather modify the stock one then spend the money for one that wont hold OD at WOT.

the tranny is from a 89 camaro.
