TH-350 Torque Converter

Why won't a TH-350 or TH-400 torque converter not work in a TH-700R4? I am just wandering and found nothing with a search.
Thanks

Also, a 700 has a fluid port for a converter clutch, but a 350 or 400 converter has no clutch.
