auto to manual swappers inside please
when you all cut the whole in the floor for the shifter, how did it look. how did you seal it etc.?
anyone have pictures of it?
care to explain the whole process of making it look good.

I didn't take pics but it's pretty easy to explain. I used a Sawzall w/ a metal-cutting blade, filed down the rough edges, then painted w/ POR-15 to keep any bare steel from being exposed.
To size the hole, I mounted the trans and jacked it up slowly until it was touching the trans tunnel. I marked around the shifter housing w/ a carbide-tip sharp punch, lowered the trans, and dimpled the sheetmetal at the four corners so I could see the shape from up top (not necessary if you're sawing from under the car). I added ~1/2" all around to ensure there was room for movement due to engine torque and whatnot.

hey kevin.
thanks for the reply, thats pretty much what i did. i did the swap back in the summer, but i just feel like I did a hack job on that part, and wanted to know what some other people did, and try and get ideas how i can maybe fix it up to look alittle more "stock" appearing. i hope its not beyond repair.
thanks again bud!
