Another 700R4 update???
I was just browsing through the TSB's on a newer vehicle with the 4L60E in it, and ran across the update to the thrust washer for the reaction shell. It looks like they've changed it to a bearing.
Anybody have any other info on this? Is it something worth looking into? I think it should retrofit into a 700 seeing that the mechanicals are pretty much the same.

As usual GM has this great idea, but instead of testing it out, they use the customer as their testbed. Once they solve some of the problems with this (comebacks) & (and lower the price), it might be a good idea. If you use the latest GM sunshell ($35.00) that uses the 4-tang bronze washer?, then this will do just fine. Before installing the bronze washer, flat sand it first to remove the "intentional" high spots that create unnecessary wear.

Thanks for your insight on this Pro Built! You've been a great asset to the trans board! I'll keep this in mind!
Last time I spoke with you, you had mentioned something about the "Beast" sunshell. Is this something that would be reccomended for higher power levels (450-500 hp/tq) or will the latest GM unit work just fine?
Thanks again!
Also, what about the 5 pinion rear planet? Necessary?
