Transmission Problems,Tranny or Tourqe converter??
Transmission Problems,Tranny or Tourqe converter??
Im trying to diagnose my transmission problem. Symptoms are: IT slips of the line (I say slips but Im not sure If thats the correct term) If you punch at any time Nothing hooks up. It will rev way up and youll get no power through the drivetrain. You have to let off the gas for it to shift. Other wise it will just stay at the same RPM and not shift. and overall you can get no power out of it.
It gets a little better through 2nd and 3rd gears after you drive for a while but its allways bad in first. And it started a few weeks ago as just a bad shifting problems. It would drive through first, Then hold at a steady RPM through second for a while then shift to third. So I want to know if it sounds like a trans problem of maybe something else.?
Thanks in advance for any help. Im in a real bad position here. I would hate to have to spend my whole tax return and then some on a new tranny.

Have you checked the fluid level? Also, look at the condition of the fluid, does it smell burnt?
