I just had my new tranny installed using Pro-Builts Street-Strip kit and I also had the shop perform the mod needed to go WOT in 4th gear following Dana instructions.

I have a questions on how exactly this work, I'd rather ask than experiment on my car

Normally I'm supossed to drive in 3rd correct? I only put it in to 4th when I want it correct? As long as I am over 80mpg, I can go WOT and it will not downshift into 3rd right? If I am going faster than 80mph in 4th then slow down, do I have to manually shift back down into 3rd or will it do it once I get to a slower speed? When I first put it in gear from park, what happens if it put into 4th? Will it still shift 1-2-3-4 and just not go back into 3rd unless I do it manually?

 

This change affects only when you are in 4th gear at speed, not at an idle. Otherwise everything else is normal.
