Clutch won't disengage
Clutch won't disengage
Hey!
I swapped a 350 into my 84 Camaro (T5) recently and now that I have it running it won’t go into any forward gear and grinds if I try reverse. It will go into gear when the engine is shut down but takes some effort. I’ve tried bleeding the clutch hydraulics at the slave cylinder and also checked to make sure the fork is riding the ball stud. The pushrod travels a good half inch when the pedal is depressed but I’d have to measure it to be exact.
Now, I should mention that while there was no engine in the car my g/f was sitting in the driver’s seat and pushed in the clutch pedal. This popped the pushrod and retaining clip right out of the slave cylinder! I managed to push the piston down and install the clip/pushrod/boot with no prob but now I’m thinking maybe something’s fudged!?
So do I need new hydraulics, more bleeding or what? Thanks!
