4th Gen V6 Rear + Other Question
I know a 4th gen LS1/LT1 rear end works in the 3rd gen, but what about the V6 rearend - will that work in my 3rd gen?
Besides the complete rear-end, drum to drum, all I need is a proportioning valve (Or would I need that, since this rear is drum)?
All that'll be different is that my current wheels will stick out a couple inches right?
And the guy said the pinion bearing is broken - is that something quick/easy to fix?

Broken pinion bearing = rear end is garbage (if you can't fix it yourself)
Basically you're looking at the same parts and labor to fix it as a gear swap, even if the gears are good, which they're probably not... if the pinion bearing is bad, then teh gear has been allowed to misalign with the ring, which will destroy them utterly in very few miles.
Pass. Keep looking.

Don't waste your money. If your going to tackle a project like this at least make it worth your time. If switching to a 4th gen rear get one from an LT1 or LS1. That way you'll have better gears, posi and disc brakes. A v6 rear is not worth the time or money to install. That how i see it anyway.

It worked perfect for me, but once I hit about 80kms/hour, the rear end would emit a high pitched squeal....getting worse the faster you went.
Does that sound like the pinion bearing?
And if it is - basically all I could use from it is the carrier(Since mine is a 2 series)/axles then I assume?
