Torque converter misalighned
When I redid my motor and installed my trans I did not have the torque converter in the trans like it supposed to be and when I bolted the trans to the engine it put pressure on the converter, will this hurt anything. Cause I have a wierd noise coming from the car now that I did not have before, not sure if it is coming from the trans though. When I give it gas sometimes it makes like a "tin grinding noise" sounds wierd.
thats not good . If you didn't have it to the trans all the way and bolted it up , you might wanna take the trans out look at the pump and the input shaft . Then look at the convertor . The convertor should lock into place 3 times , turbine stater pump .

Definatly not a good situation. If you are hearing noises, then the damage is already done. You should probably take the tranny back out and dissasemble the pump. A majority of the time, the pump rotor breaks and you may have cracked or broken the converter like this:

Just to clear it up I don't know if it makes a difference but I did not start the car like that. I just noticed the converter did not spin and took it back off to align it.
