Speed sensors on manual transmissions....
Ok, if i swap a Non-WC T5 out of my 84' Z-28 for a WC T5 from a 88' IROC, are there any differences with the speed sensor? Are the ones out of the newer cars electronic? Or is that on for automatics?

Yup, it's too easy.... I'm running a 91 T-5 in my 83 car right now.
I actually went to the dealer and bought a new driven gear housing though.... the OE one is a particularly low grade of chinesium, but the new one is steel. All of the OE ones I had on hand (a considerable number!!) were so badly worn out into an oval that they wouldn't hold the gear in proper alignment, and as a result my speedo was intermittent. The worst thing was, that in 5th gear and 5th only, when the car was coasting the speedo would work, but as soon as I gave it any gas, it would go to zero. Made the cruise control pretty interesting.

Hey RB
Just picked up my new trans: 91 T5 with 70k on from a bone stock RS. I got to see it BEFORE they cleaned it, and it was really clean.
Ok, I noticed there is another electrical connecter besides the speed sensor, what is that? I think I've seen it on my stock 84' T5 but it's not hooked up.
