Engine: 350 SBC
Transmission: Probuilt 700R-4
Converter lockup
I have a 1991 Z-28 with a probuilt trans. I was wondering how to make the converter only lock up in 4th gear. I know painless wiring sells a kit for non computer cars, but can I do this on a computer car? Thanks.

Tim, There's a pressure switch inside the tranny that opens or closes when you hit 4th. You could use that to power a relay which could lock up the TCC.

This place has a few setups you could use www.700r4.com. I have one took me less than an hour to put it in. Aaaaah and it works really well and doesnt rely on the unreliable vacuum switch
