What rear came in 89 RS 2.8 ? I looked on the tech section and it says 3.42 Did the 2.8 come with POSI? or just the 342 peg legger? it has drum brakes on it if that helps....

I have a 89 RS with a 2.8L and indeed it has a 3.42 axle ratio. But no it did not come with posi. it does have a limited slip though, which is essentially the same thing as posi.

Check RPO codes located under the console lid for code G80 which indicates the Limited Slip option (aka Posi). Not many people special ordered these model cars and GM did not add a lot of options to keep the price low.

Odds are you have the peg leg version, I have one in my driveway right now. I bet mucho money that NO V6 car got a posi.

which cars did come with the 3.73 0r 3.23's posi... 10 or 9 bolt or 11 bolt or 12... I need that rear and need to find which car had it so I canb buy it and get the rear out
