new 700r4

hey im thinking about gettin a new 700r4 for my 87 305 camaro. i was wondering what you guys think i should spend for a brand new one. ive never priced them and have no idea. so opinions and knowledge are greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.

well, you can probably get a cheap rebuild for $8-900 or so, but i'd definitely reccomend Pro-built automatics.... a little bit more $$, but the General consensus here is that they are WELL worth it, I love mine, and they have great Customer SVC.... just do a search. Good luck!

Engine: 355 (fastburn heads, LT4 HOT cam)
Transmission: 700R4
Axle/Gears: 9-bolt, 3.27
I don't have much personal experience with Pro-Built's transmissions, but he has been very helpful when I've had problems with my own rebuilds. I know that when I build the trans for my car, I'm gonna be buying most of the parts from Pro-Built. If you only need a stock rebuild (which I doubt ) find a reputable local builder, but if you want something that is really stout, call Probuilt.
