Converter Help
I'd like to put a torque converter in my car to give me some much needed low end grunt. I know that for the most part, you get what you pay for, but I am on a budget. I was wondering what you guys think. How big?
My car will likely get modded bit by bit over time, but I am not going to be running 12s any time soon.
Brand??
What is the minimum that I should expect to spend? I don't want to cheap out. I'd rather wait if I have to so that I can do it right. This being said, a TC costing $1000 US is a little outta my league.
The tranny has about 50k on it. I got a Trans-Go Stage 2 shift kit and the corvette servo put in last summer.
My best 60 footer was a 2.31 and that was with no-posi and on bald tire(s). I am going to install Air-Lift air bags and get new tires this spring (As well as a rear end swap to get posi).
Any input is welcome.

check out the guys at www.ptcrace.com
They can set you up. Just tell them what you have done and are planning. They stand behind there product.
Most of the guys here at the local track run them and have real good luck out of ptc converters.
hope this helps.

Check out www.raceconverters.com. This is the website for Midwest Torque Converters. I have heard very good things about them. They come with a 2 year warranty which is better than most. I will probably be getting a 2800 stall. There price is $430.
The A.C.T. 9.5" torque converter sells for $565.00 and comes with a one year warranty and a free stall change if needed. You can check them out at www.actperformance.com look at the MAG.
