I think my transmission is dead, help me please!

I have a 1988 Pontiac Trans Am GTA with a 305TPI, automatic transmission with 165 800km... When I was at a stop today, I pressed the gaz pedal, the car move only a little! Took 2 minutes only to cross the roads!! What the **** is going on? Someone told me it was my transmission that fried... But I just got the car a months ago and it seemed fine, It didn't gave me a clue that the transmission was going to die!

You are going to have to be more spefic than " I pressed the gas pedal and it moved really slowly". Be as spefic as you can. From just it moves really slowly it sounds like your tranny is stuck in some high gear - which means it is broke.
