2nd gear is completely gone on my 92 firebird w/tbi, auto, 700r4. i was given estimates that the rebuild would be between 1300-1600. at this point i would rather spend up to $2000 (tranny and labor)and put in an upgraded tranny, considering i want to put in a 350 somewhere down the line. i live in NJ any suggestions on a tranny in that price range?
** my gf's uncle will be doing the tranny work so i will get a slight break in labor price**

1600? I just had mine rebuilt for about $825, and that includes transgo shift kit, corvette servo, and heavier duty internal parts. You may want to shop around a little before hand. And as far as new is concerned, go to Pro-Built Transmission
