T-56 rebuilding cost..... ?
Have any of you rebuilt a T-56 , or had it done? If so, what is the average price, providing all is in good shape, just needing an overhaul? I have plans to pick one up next week, but it has 120,000 miles on it, and the car it was in was supercharged. The owner said the only trouble he had, was when the car was cold, it was a little hard to shift into 2nd.... Any help?
Thanks.

i paid $1000 for my T-56 to be professinally re-built w/ warranty. it's alot but i needed it done asap. 3 years later it works just like the day it was new.
A buddy has done it didnt seem to crazy. Id say if you can rebuild a T-5 then you have all the magic to do it. If I recall correctly youll need a set of long 2 jaw pullers and that was about it as far as other tools you need over the ones needed to to do the T-5. I do know youll need a dial gauge if you replace any and I mean any of the bearings. So if you have all of that all you need a a kit which is 250ish and that should be a complete kit. 180 if its just syncros. Also prob wanna upgrade 3-4 Shift fork with steel (55 bux). Also the 2 top bolts are some odd torx like a T-40 plus or some nonesense like that...they hold the shift rails in. They are a pain to remove. Anyways good luck on what ever you decide to do.
