t-56 converters and dual cats

Hi guys,

For those that did the t-56 conversions with dual cats, what did you use for the cat bracket? My cats are basically hanging there right now, and I'm not sure how to get a brace installed.

Thanks,

I completely got rid of the WHOLE exhaust system from smog pump to air-tubes and cats to the exhaust tips! Do yourself a favor and switch to a single cat setup. You will save weight and you'll get a few ponies from it. I didn't want to try to hang the stock stuff with the T-56, a custom bracket will have to made and if I had to keep the stock exhaust, I would sub that job to a qualified exhaust shop.

Hmm, as I had just replaced my cats with dual cats I'd rather not spend the $$$ for a single 3 inch cat. Oh well, may be off to the muffler shop soon.

To clarify, a single cat does not require a bracket? I've never had a camaro with a single cat, so I do not know for sure.

Thanks,

I dont have any brackets on mine. The headers are bolted to the heads, the y-pipe bolts to the headers, behind the y-pipe is where the cat is welded, after that weld there is a 3 in, collector flange, this is where the over the axle pipe is connected, and finally I have a hanger on each side of the muffler holding it in place.

So no, the cat just needs to be welded in if you are building an exhaust similar to mine.
