Noisy transmission

Just a curious question..
I was on the highway this morning doing about 50. Some retard in a mudstain cut me off and when a spot opened up, I dropped into 3rd and blew by him
Down the road, I heard a loud whining sound and sure enough, it’s my transmission.
The sound is the same as the one when you back up only the pitch is higher because of the higher revs going forward.

Any ideas as to what would cause the sound?

I have a Tremec 3550 with a Centerforce clutch.

Also, it only makes noise when the trans is warmed up and only in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and, 5th gear.

Could it be low fluids?
