just bought used 700R4, what do you think about these specs?

I just bought a 700R4 out of an 85 IROC. I plan on installing it in my 2nd gen.. It is an 81 Z28 w/ 400sbc, holley 650Spreadbore, edelbrock performer intake, Comp Cams Magnum Cam, Magnum rockers, hedders, cat-less exhaust, 3.70 posi rear..

The guy I bought the tranny from said it was rebuilt in '99 w/ a modifier kit ( not a shift kit), corvette servo, 11-vane pump, 31-spline input shaft.. He included the stock torque converter, shifter, tv & speedo cables, flywheel dust cover..

I just gotta get the kit to lockup the torque converter b/c there is no cpu in my car & the proper cable.. He said b/c the tranny came from tpi car, the cable(s) might be too long... Do you think if I got the cable(s) from a carburetored version camaro/Trans Am, I should be ok?

Do you think the tranny will hold up to my motor setup if it has the above specs.??

Also, does anyone know what speedo gears I will need?

Any input would be greatly appreciated...
Thanks

The '86 Camaro w/305 used a q-jet. Check with your dealer to see if it used a GM # 25507546 TV cable. You will need a TV bracket in the right place on your manifold, which might take some fabrication. TV cable adjustment is critical . If your speedometer is accurate with the
tranny you now have, just get gears with the same RATIO for the 700-r4. You might also need a different adapter sleeve for the
drive gear.

Holley sells a bracket for your TV cable.

Plus, check out www.700r4.com - lots of good info there.
