can u make an open diff a posi?

hey i have been hearing that theres a kit for like 150 dollars that lets u convert ur open diff to a posi is this true?will i be able to convert my stock 10 bolt of my 85 camaro z28 to a posi with buying a whole posi rear end?

Yes.

You take out the open diff carrier, remove the ring gear from it, put the ring gear on the posi carrier, and install the posi carrier into your rear end.

There is no "kit". It will cost a great deal more than that for a 85.

In addition to the normal clutch-type posi units, you could also get a "mini-spool" (very bad for street use, turns your car into an unguided missile on wet pavement) or a Powertrax Locker.
