Car 'jerks' when I press the gas OR release it?!

Car 'jerks' when I press the gas OR release it?!
'90 IROC (350 / 700R4)
When I am going down the road (like coasting) everything is fine... then when I press the gas pedal, the car kinda 'jerks' then it will be fine again... then whenever I let off the gas, it will 'jerk' again, then be fine again?!?!
Any ideas? Could this be the torque converter or driveshaft messing up?

Engine: 5.7 ltr
Transmission: full race 700r4
possibly the torque convertor clutch. i had the same problem went with a non lock up set up lost 300 rpm at cruising speed but no more jerking around
