problem with trans slipping

problem with trans slipping

i have an 83 Z/28 w/ a 700r trans. I just put the car on the road after sitting for a year. it seems like the tranny slips until it warms up a bit. what does this sound like? what should I do?

Check your TV cable adjustment. Do a search on this board for a good adjustment procedure.

thank you flyway, i think was just an adjustment to the cable. my friend suggested the same thing and we tried it last night and it worked.

No problem, my car did that exact same thing when I first got it. Be sure to check it every now and again, I've found that mine needs to be adjusted about once a month or so.
