What is this?
Ok, I officially have no idea what is going on, could you guys perhaps shed some light on this?
When I have my car in D, whenever I launch or accelerate, it accelerates with incredible amounts of force! And when I let off the accelerator, I get this strange feeling like the car is "pulling" while coasting, yet it disappears when I accelerate again! Sorry, it's the best that I could describe with my limited knowledge of cars. (The experience is awesome, though.
)
However, if I have the car in OD in the same situations, it doesn't accelerate very fast at all in comparison, but yet it feels very smooth when coasting.
EDIT: And one last thing, whenever the car upshifts, there tends to be a feeling of the car almost leaping forward.
A former LB9 Z28 owner I work with said there might be a pretty mean shift kit installed. Could this be true? Or could my tranny have serious problems?
The car's in the sig.
Thanks for any info you can provide!

well in od your engine rpms will be lower at the same speed then when driving in drive, so i think your feeling the this "pulling force" because the engine is at a higer rpm after letting off in drive therefore causing the engine rpm to hold back the car. kinda like using the engine for slowing down. thats why if ur in od u can wot then let off and it will go back to the coasting rpm and u dont really feel the "pulling force" slowing u down.
i am not too sure about this leaping forward, maybe u have a shift kit in the tranny.

i dont think so, i cruise around in drive sometimes up to 60 mph and the rpm are still not really high maybe like 3,00 to 3,500 rpm.
if i race someone after the race i usually shift into od to calm down.
i think manaully tranny people degear while coming to a stop and thats kinda of using the engine rpms to slow down the car.
