I drive an '84 z28 and my tranny is having some problems, first of all it goes into 2nd gear at about 30 miles per hour, and only after I lay off the gas and gently push it down, and then it completely forgets about going into 3rd gear. At about 55 miles per hour it goes from 4000 rpms to 5500 rather quickly and bogs down. I quickly lay off the gas as to not incure any damages. It might be my TV cable, but then again, i'm thinking that it might have something to do with my carburater being on a sort of high throttle. I have checked the TV cable and it looks a little frayed. I'm not sure what this could mean, but i'm pretty sure i need a new cable, or a new carburater??

 

Get the TV cable adjusted & working correctly first. If it is an after market carb, then make sure it was designed for a TV cable setup?
