Suburban tranny..

Getting a freebie here shortly, Suburban tranny, 65k miles on it. It's for a V8 350 Auto, 4 spd auto... same as my IROC. Any problems possibly forseen here before I attempt this?

hmm

i herd somthing about having to change the governer in it with ur old one or it will shift real early dont quote me on this wile its out u should slap a corvet servo in it and a shift kit wile its out side of the car and easy to get too.

Year and condition I do not know as of yet, my buddy works 2 jobs and is pretty hard to get a hold of. I'll make sure I check on those 2 things.

And about the governer...your probably 99% right on that... since the camaro is not as heavy as the suburban, and is not built for real hauling. I could go ahead and rip out the governer.. Any ideas if I should haul it up to a tranny shop or just go ahead and pull it apart myself? I was thinking of giving my current tranny and the one I'm getting from the Suburban, for exchange for a rebuilt manul & pay for install. If that doesn't work, your gonna see a buttload of suburban parts up for sale on ebay

If everything checks out ok, use the existing governor to start with. You will have to see where it shifts before making any changes.
