New Fluid=Breakdown?
I got the fluid changed in my auto tranny t700r4? Whatever.. stock in an 83 trans am. And now it is giving my tons of grief.
My dad also had the fluid changed in his 93 isuzu rodeo with a 5 speed manual, and it is giving him problems
Will new transmission fluid hurt an old car, or is this just a coincidence?

Not sure what could happen on the manual.
But on the automatic. If the auto was on its way out before, you may not have noticed it because the old fluid contained lots of clutch particles. Thats part of what makes the fluid dark colored. These particles take up some of the space between the worn out clutches, letting the automatic work. Then you change the fluid to nice fresh clean stuff... No more particles to take up the space, now your tranny's slippin, and you blame it on the new fluid. In actuality if you wait until the fluid looks bad you've waited too long. You should service a transmission on a regular schedule so the fluid always looks new. This will help prevent some of that fatal wear.
