Enable/Disable Torque Converter
I currently have a switch that enables and disables the torque converter. With this switch it is not controlled by the ECM at all. The only time we turn it on is when we are on the highway and cruising. Always off when in town or racing. Before we started burning our own chips we got tired of it engaging and disengaging (at some point in time we will wire it back into the ECM and control it via the prom).
In the mean time is there any problem with running it in the above scenario?

The trick is to rememeber to turn it off once you're slowing down, depending on how hard your tranny is on the downshifts.
If you're in the chip though, better to just dial it in there. Since my vert is now a part time / cruising car, i have my minimum lock up enable up at 50mph so i never hit it during any kind of cruising stuff. Does make a 15-20' difference in tranny temps on a hot day though compared to locking it at 40.

Good Information - Thanks. I plan on hooking it up again soon. Until then I'm depending on the oversized pan (3 qts additional) and trans cooler to fend off the transmission devel - HEAT.
