Flexplate
Hello all,
I have a question about flexplates. I have a '89 firebird formula 305, Vin Code E. I need to know what the stock dia. flexplate is used. Is it the 12 3/4 or 14 in. A shop installed a GM starter PN 9000852m which if for 14in. I just need to know how I can what size a stock flexplate I have. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Does the starter work?
If it does, then you have the larger flex plate. (assuming that your lookup info about what starter it is is coorect)
If you had the smaller one, the starter would miss it by about 5/8"... clearly it would not work at all.
