torque converter going
in my seemingly never ending struggle to figure out why my car is so damn slow, i called a guy and he immediately said my torque converter was a large part of it. the car the engine is a 355, rebuilt top to bottom, everything, to my knowledge, was done correctly, and nothing obvious is wrong.
the 60 ft time was 2.2 with a 3.08 one legger launching at 1500rpm and almost no wheel spin (1 revolution, i got the run on video). the engine feels strong, but it runs slower than molasses in january. I finished the quarter at 6000 in 3rd in 15.9@84.
i don't know details about the converter, i can only assume it's near stock, i got it free when i bought the th350 i have in the car now. It's painted blue, so i've got little choice but to believe it either IS stock or is a b&m.
desktop dyno says i should be making 380hp, 300 would make me happy...but to run those times, i'm only putting out 130 or so hp at the wheels, so i'm losing it somewhere
the cam is a comp XE268H10, what do you guys think? is my converter toast? if it is, how big do i need to buy?
