GTA gear ratio questions?

A friennd of mine is getting ready to buy a 91 GTA trans am with the WS6 suspension package. The guy at the dealership say that it has the rear end gear ratios can be adjusted through the computer. He said that you can hook up some kind of device under the dash and adjust it that way. Does he know what he's talking about? And if so how do you do this and what do you need to do it?

Thanks!!

Not a chance. Maybe he is refering to the speedo calibration or something.

Thanks! I thought he might be full of it. He also tried to tell us that it has a LT1 engine in it, and that 1991 was the last year they made the GTA, But its a real nice car, its just got 100,000 miles on it and hes selling it for 3900$. Thanks for your help.
