9 bolt posi rear (Packy, read)

This will work for all posi's I would guess, but I have a 9 bolt....

I made a post last week about a grinding noise coming from the rear of my car. I thought it was the brakes. So, upon inspection of the rear discs/pads/calipers, I found that they were the original pbr pads from 89! I replaced them and WOW! But that didn't fix the noise I got on this wonderful site and asked about it and I got this:

is your rear posi perhaps?
if so might be the clutches chattering.
not sure just a thougt,

I didn't believe it, so I pondered and waited for others to post....never happened.

I broke down tonight and got some gear oil and a gasket, and went to town. When I pried the rubber plug out of the cover, the oil was all the way full....I didn't stop there (i already bought the stuff, so what the heck!). I replaced it all, and took it for a long drive..............................................NO grinding! I was amazed!

So, thank you Packy:hail:
