My L03 runs pretty well, but the car lurches an awful lot when gassing it mildly and backing off. Seems like it's just slop in the driveline.
Could it be my torque arm bushings? How do you check them? Could really bad bushings also cause a feeling like clutch chatter?Other likely culprits? Trans mount?
Thanks.

lurching? like front end rising up when u give it a quick bit of throttle? could be worn shocks and struts.
In answer to the first response about the front end moving--no.
I have the F41 "boxcar-ride" suspension. Wish I didn't.
I don't think my front end moves up-and-down AT ALL.
In fact, I doubt there are springs in there
OK, I will certainly buy trans mount, makes sense---the shifter does move up and down somewhat while all this lurching is going on. The slop makes the car feel as if I am a first-time clutch-driver, and considering I started with motorcycles in 1968, and first two cars were manuals, I am certainly not.
Will a new stock trans mount make a really noticeable difference, or should I go with an aftermarket one? I ask because I've heard some negative ride-comfort comments about urethane suspension bushings. How bad could my L03 beat up the mount, anyway? ----unless my really powerful-sounding open element makes a diff....
I do dream of a mild (LT-1) cam and possibly an open 3.42 off a six-cylinder, but I don't think we're talking any real ***** here.
By the way, and off-topic, we can (and will) bash the shnot out of the L03, but we have a steep and winding mountain road around here, and I took it for the first time in my RS with a friend aboard. He (and I) could not believe how steep a hill I could pull in fourth gear, while cornering yet. Guess that's where all that "wasted" torque comes in.
Man, if this car ever gets rear-ended that motor's goin' in a pickup.
