other issue, wheels

Hope this goes here. Ok I had a problem with wheels clicking. Couldn't figurei t out, took it to the shop said my front end needed a rebuild, cause the ball joints were going out. That a**, I jacked it up and checked, the bearings and the ball joints are still tight. So I just drove it, cause I needed to, then fianlyl broke down and took it into the tire shop, they pulled off the grease cap, and looked, and that pin in there was too long and hitting the side, and the morons that repacked my bearings in the first place never tightened the bolt correctly. SO NOW, (and tihs didn't start till all of this was figured out and fixed) on the road, if I get to about 45, I hear a slight whirring noise in the right side of the car, toward the front (or at least thats where it seems its coming from) it makes the noise from about 45-50, and does it a bit when I put it in neutral as well. I thuoght it was the tranny or something, but its new, and it just started with all of this bearing mess......does it seem like I just need new bearings? I'm really hoping so, cuase the clicking is still there too. I think since they didn't tighten the bolt right, and left the clip messed up, it screwed something up.

thanks!

sorry for the long post and if its the wrong place, just let me know.

This definately belongs in the suspension forum. I have to say that setting the bearings wrong can even damage the spindles. My spindles show some really bad signs of wear, but everything still seems to be nice and tight. You should also check out the bearing races in the rotor, they may have to come out too.

the spindles? Crap that sucks. well i need to take it back to that place and really yell at em, cause that caused me some trouble, and wear, and they owe me to fix it right, so if anything else is wrong its their damn fault. sorry about posting in the wrong forum BTW, i totally missed the other one...sorry!! Id move it if I could!

Its only the front wheels, the back wheel are fine. How much do spindles run? thanks.

The best price I got was $65 shipped. I don't remember the place since I decided to get the spindles modified for the C4 brakes instead.

This is where I got that quote from, www.salvage-yards.com
