T5 clutch setup on a T56?

Hey there folks, my T5 is pretty much toast at this point, and I am trying to get a clear answer on what I can reuse to install my T56. I have heard mixed reviews on wether the clutch/pp assy can be used, I would like to if possible as this one only has about 1-3k miles on it.

Also, from what it sounds, the hydro setup needs to be replaced with the LT1 setup as the T5 one is too short?

I hear that the stock torque arm can be reused, is this correct?

I know that I will need a crossmember and something to get the speedo working again. I have a complete T56 setup minus the clutch, so I am looking to scoop up what ever else I need to get this installed as my t5 is toast.

TIA!

The pedals from the T5 setup can be used, but I'm 99% sure that you have to use the T56 hydro setup. The clutch on the T56s (at lest the 4th gen ones) is all kinds of messed up, with a pull-type clutch rather than push. The slave cyl is turned 180° on the tranny, and I would doubt that the hose is long enough on the T5 setup. IMHO, the 4th gen hydro setup looks better anyway, since it has braided SS line between the master and slave cyls.

As for the tourque arm, I reused mine from my V6 automatic. You just need to be creative in closing the clamshell enough to bolt it down. The rubber bushing on the T56 doesn't match the pattern on the arm, but it's close. Since the bushing is rubber it'll conform. I also reused my drive shaft.

If you have an electric speedo, then you will need a claibration box. Most people seem to use a SGI5 from dakota digital: http://www.dakotadigital.com/Detail....rtNumber=SGI-5

If you have a mechanical speedo, then I have heard that there is an adapter, but you'll have to search for it. There are also a few different x-members for it, Skulte and Sphon being the most common.

The T-5 hydros will not work unless you buy a retro-fit style T-56 from an aftermarket company. If you're using a stock GM trans then you have to use the GM hydros and the LT1 pull-style clutch. And I'm 100% sure because I've been there. You can use your torque arm and driveshaft, you'll need the LT1 flywheel and clutch though.
