Seal, Yay or nay? (700r4)

Do you guys know if their is a seal, or gasket between the tranny and the tv cable boot?

I replaced this cable and now it drips continuosly, has to be something to do with it, and it's very tight...

Thanks for any info...

First "do not" overtighten this as you will crack it. Yes, there is a top hat type seal that goes in there. When installing this seal the area must be perfectly clean, and use a little oil on the seal when you install it so as not to rip or tear it.

First off, thanks for replying. Now by cracking, what part are you talking about, the boot of the actual cable or the seal? Also, this hat seal, is it a completely seperate piece from the cable. Because I don't have anything besides the cable hooked up.

Thanks

It is a seperate seal. You will crack the TV cable itself by overtightening.

Typically the old seal will sneak out with the old cable when you remove it... Unless you pulled the seal off of the old cable and put it in before you installed your new cable, it is likely to be missing...
