is $550 too much?

i finaly found a 92 rear end with 3.42 gears and posi in a junk yard. the guy wants $550 for it though. that sounds like a lot to me, whats the most you would pay for one?

BTW, its got drum brakes.

Not what he is asking. 10-bolt with drum brakes, forget about it.
Even if its a 3:42 with a Limited slip, $150 Tops.

I paid 200.oo for a 3.42 disc 4th gen rear, and threw away a posi drum 91 rear with a bent axle. unless his has like 200.00 miles on it or something rediculosuly low, I wouldnt pay that for it.

Even with rear disc, that sounds high.

RE:$550.00 IS TO MUCH BY FAR!

I didn't even go the cheap route. Bought mine of E-BAY, it's off 99' SS Camero 55k, 3.23 posi, disc brake and it came a little to complete everything including LCA, torque arm, springs, shocks, panhand rod and E-brake cables. All strapped to a pallet and shrink wrapped. $200 for the rear + $175 for shipping to San Antonio,TX. from CAL. Total=$375.00

i was quoted once about 125 for just the 3.73 gears becuase he told me that i would be able to have the whole axle and everything cause without the gears they dont know if the axle is good anymore. so i was quoted 125 for everything, 550 does sound high.
