did i damage anything by doing this??
i had my car off the ground with the wheels turning in drive. pressed on the brake to stop 'em from turning, put it in neutral and shut off the car. then i shifted into park with the car off but i didnt realize the wheels hadn't completely stopped so when i did this i heard loud clunks then the wheels stopped. i'm guessing this was the park lock inside the tranny getting ****ed up b/c of my stupidity.
so how much damage did i do here??? is it possible to replace it with the pan off?? i'll be removing it soon to change the fluid. this is not turning out to be a fun weekend. i just realized my rear end noise is coming from the pinion and not the axles like i first thought!

Your not the first or last to accidentally do this and there's a 90% chance you did'nt hurt anyothing.
I did the same thing, only instead of putting it in park I had the wheels turning at about 50 mph and pushed the brakes down and they suddenly stopped and the tranny made a loud clunk. I was scared ****less, but everything is fine.
